Historical Studies

History is like testimony in court. It is told to make a case. But it also part of the mass media of textbook publishing, and the often ideology driven academic world. A history book has to be bought by libraries or adopted as a college text to make it into the cultural consciousness. The independent reviewer is critical to breaking through this control.

Your story, your identity.

The great thing about history books is that the good ones are still around, even if history teachers are increasingly woke nincompoops. The path from the good book to the non-historian is a difficult one for knowledge to take, however, as good books far exceed the ability of any mortal to read them all. There is also a note being sounded more frequently in alternative media that we need to recover our history, and that to do so remains a great future project and challenge. This is not because of contemporary woke suppression of information that would explode their theories, but because of earlier control by liberals over what they could allow to be seen as true, and before them were the whig, Enlightenment, and religious writers who all with an agenda to mold public ideals. The problem is that the good books on many topics have yet to be researched and written. A people’s story is important to their sense of identity. As the agenda of the political and cultural elite is to alter the people’s identity to fit the elite’s goals, history has become a battleground.
